Short write-ups on developer tooling, MCP servers, cloud platforms and agentic AI systems by Azhar.

2026
My first agent was a text file and a prompt No framework, no platform. One markdown file of instructions and a folder it could read and write. It got further than it had any right to, and the ways it fell over set up everything that came after. Why one engineer ends up building a fleet of agents I started with one assistant for everything. It worked until the context from every task started bleeding into every other one. This is the first post in a series on what I built instead, mistakes included. Teaching a model to use tools it cannot see Hiding 1,111 tool schemas from the model was the easy part. Getting it to reliably call tools it can no longer see is the work worth writing down. Your MCP server ships too many tools My gateway fronts 1,111 tools. Loading their schemas up front costs 289,874 tokens before the model reads a single instruction. The fix is to stop loading them.
